Design, manufacturing and installation
Timber and glass constructions need coordinated drawings, manufacturing details and an installation plan. Glass & Wood provides design and manufacturing; GW Home provides construction and installation within the agreed scope.
Project drawings and technical coordination
Start with plans, elevations, sections and the intended use. We discuss the timber structure, glazing divisions, opening parts and connections to the surrounding building. A 3D visualisation can help explain the appearance, while production drawings define dimensions and construction details.
Responsibilities for the building design, approvals and individual construction packages must be clear. Drawings and information needed for production are agreed before manufacturing starts; a visualisation does not replace structural or thermal calculations.
Manufacturing and delivery
The agreed specification defines the timber, glass, finishes and hardware. Transport and lifting requirements should be considered alongside the product dimensions. Site access and a suitable unloading and storage area are part of delivery planning.
Installation on site
Installation begins with the readiness and dimensions of the supporting construction. For timber elements, windows, facades and glass roofs, coordinate the sequence with adjacent trades. The offer should distinguish manufacturing, delivery, lifting, installation, weatherproofing connections and finishing work.
For roof glazing, send the roof plan and sections, glass sizes and weights, installation height and access photographs. Handling and lifting equipment must suit the actual units and working conditions.
Information for a proposal
Send the site location, drawings, quantities, current project stage and desired schedule. State which parts you need us to supply and which are provided by other contractors. Scope, technical specification and deadlines are confirmed individually.
